Hope Adams’s mother had been a florist who loved white roses and kept a greenhouse full of them as her special place of solitude. After trying very hard to have a child, Mrs. Adams and her husband had almost given up when, miraculously, they eventually had a daughter. The hope that had kept them going became the name of that child. Sadly, Hope’s mother died shortly after her birth. After her death, and in her honour, Hope’s father locked up the greenhouse without allowing his daughter or anyone else to enter. However, when Hope got to a certain special age, she began seeing an apparition of her mother leading her to the greenhouse… leading her to find one last white rose.
