In Easter 1963, we meet the Sandersons, a family broken by the discordant political ideals held by illustrious parents and their two nonconformist sons Carl and Anthony who became Rastafarian and left to live in a Rastafarian commune.

Description

During the Easter season, a young Jamaican nation both celebrates its independence and denounces the development of its fledgling Rastafarian movement. A young Carl encounters gruesome confrontations with his parents, whose actions are driven by a society that oppressively seeks to maintain its political status quo. Through a series of momentous events, Carl becomes painfully aware of how far the lessons of the body politic must be inscribed in the flesh of the individual.
