Seven-year-old Hera had always wanted a pet, but her dad said she needed to wait until she was old enough to take care of one. Then one day as she was playing in the backyard, she heard a mewling sound. A beautiful golden kitten with a broken paw was whimpering in the shed under her father’s lawnmower.
